Fourth Generation Light Source (4GLS): “Delivery of Industrial Solutions” Conference
A one day interactive conference to understand the progress made with 4GLS
technology and explore the significant industrial applications that
could be exploited with it.
Thursday May 10th 2007 – Daresbury Science
and Innovation Campus
4GLS is already being utilised to evaluate potential applications in a number of areas, for example:
- Advanced studies of skin cancer, and potential early diagnosis of lung cancer
- Live cell imaging to better understand action of pharmaceutical on a cell
- Evaluation of reaction pathways in real time to help develop next generation photovoltaics
- Improved understanding of chemical catalysis mechanisms
- Non-damaging “point and click” THz imaging and spectroscopy
for explosives identification
Conference Aims
- The Conference will help you to understand the progress being made with 4GLS technology including investments in, and benefits derived from it. In particular it provides key industrial users with the opportunity to:
- Meet the team pioneering the use of 4GLS technology
- Understand the potential benefits of 4GLS technology in key target sectors ( Lifelong Healthcare, Energy, Catalysis & Fine Chemicals, Security, Semiconductors, Electronics and Nanotechnology)
- Discuss how 4GLS technology can be developed further to realise benefits for your organisation
- Meet potential R&D partners
- Understand the timetable for future investment in 4GLS technology
Who should attend?
- Research and Development Directors/Chief Technology Officers
- Senior Research Council Officers
- Senior Strategic Managers of external relationships with research and technology partners
- Research and Development personnel managing programmes requiring capabilities for real time study of molecular processes and reactions
- Research leaders and specialists in laser and synchrotron radiation as a research tool
